Capt. Edward G. Howard, nephew of Bernard Edward, 12th Duke of Norfolk K.G. and has issued:

Lineage:

The family of Marshall, anciently MARCHAL, lived in Sussex for many generations before.
THOMAS MARSHALL (son of Thomas Marshall of Easebourne) left the county and m. Mary, only daughter of
William Bryant of Haslemere, Surrey. By her he had two sons,
Thomas Marshall who d. without issue, and
ROBERT BRYANT MARSHALL Esq. b. 18 Oct 1744 who derived considerable property from his uncle Robert
Bryant of Haslemere, the only brother of Mary Bryant, the said Robert Bryant having but one child, a daughter, to
whom he left the rest of his estate.

Robert Marshall d. leaving two sons (George of Broadwater and Henry of Godalming) and three daughters who
married three brothers
-     Anne who m. William Pontifex of Gloucester Place, Hyde Park Gardens
-     Sarah who m. Edmund Pontifex of Bramhope Lodge, Charlton, Kent, and
-     Mary who m. John Pontifex of Croom's Hill, Blackheath, Kent.
