MARRIAGE IN ST. SAVIOUR'S
One of these little interesting matrimonial events, which occur once in the life
of the average man and woman, was celebrated in St. Saviour's Cathedral
yesterday. There was a numerous gathering of ladies; that curious and emulative
spirit which fills the female mind always insures a considerable assemblage of
those who delight to "assist"- meanwhile as uninterested parties - at those
ceremonies!! and like to quiz at the sweet thing in white and orange-blossom
robed.
The marriage celebrated yesterday of George Marshall of the Dargle ard Miss
Sarah Eleanor Pepworth of the City; and the ceremony was performed by the Bishop
of Maritzburg, assisted by Archdeacon Usherwood. Dean Green gave away the bride,
Mr. Shepstone was the groomsman and four pretty and petite maidens and a tiny
cherub of a page attended on the bride:: Mrs. Dunster sent the pair on their way
to the strains of the Mendelssohn's ~ familiar march and they drove off from the
church door amid the well wishes of friends and visitors.
