My grandfather William Gibbs was born at Landrington House, Hampshire and married Charlotte Gater and settled at Itchenor House, Sussex not many miles from Chichester. He lived there as what vas the called a Gentleman Farmer, for over forty years.
It was a fine house as will be seen from the watercolour I have. He lived for many years Landrington House, near Emsworth Hampshire, a fine old place, a water colour of which I possess. It is a copy of the original now in the possession of my eldest sister Emmeline Eliza Gibbs. This copy was made by my brother Mortimer Gibbs.²

He served over 50 years with the Aldershot and District (affectionately known as the "'ave a shot an' risk it"), cycling to work everyday from his home at 17, The Oval in Farncombe to the depot in Guildford. between 1920 and 1974.

     Ronald was born at Camberley on 16 May 1920. He was the son of Capt. Murray Marshall and Madelaine Murray Marshall. His Service Number was P/Jx149429HI, P/Jx denotes a Portsmouth rating.
     He married Pauline Margaret Nicholas at St Nicholas, Guildford, on 18 April 1942.
     In August 1944 Ronald was awarded the DSM (Distinguished Service Medal).¹
     Ronald died on 13 November 2006 at Liphook at age 86; renal failure.

     Gavin George Hamilton, 2nd Baron Hamilton of Dalzell was the son of John Glencairn Carter Hamilton, 1st Baron Hamilton of Dalzell and Emily Eleanor Leslie-Melville. He was born on 20 June 1872. He married Sybil Mary Marshall, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Frederick Marshall, on 24 July 1912. He died on 23 June 1952 at age 80.
He gained the title of 2nd Baron Hamilton of Dalzell.¹
     Gavin George Hamilton 2nd Baron Hamilton of Dalzell, J.T., C.V.O., M.C. was born on 20 June 1872.
     Gavin George Hamilton 2nd Baron Hamilton of Dalzell, J.T., C.V.O., M.C. married Sybil Mary Marshall, daughter of Gen. Sir Frederick Marshall and Adelaide Laura Howard, on 24 July 1912.
