     Alfred died on 25 August 1930 at Weston, Bath, at age 88. His estate was granted probate on 13 October 1930 at Bristol.

     Alfred was born on 16 July 1799. He was the son of William Pontifex and Mary Bailey.

     She married Walter James Lord Capt H.E.I.C.S at New Fishbourne, Funtington, in April 1856.^4,5
     Anne died on 11 October 1859 at age 34.
     She was listed as the wife of Walter James Lord Capt H.E.I.C.S in the 1871 census at 71 Erdall Rd, Dulwich.⁶
