George Watters was born between January 1868 and March 1868 at Old Derrick Farm, Louth.1 He was the son of (?) Watters.
George Watters married Sarah Ann Keenan, daughter of (?) Keenan, before 1905. George Watters was Policeman. George went with a cousin into Dublin and joined the Police. Cousin's family bought him out of Police, but George's father was angry and Uncle Jim took over the farm.
George died in 1922; Killed on active police duty.
George Watters was shot by the IRA - 7 bullets. He went to Dublin and found an old school friend who was a surgeon but "he would have to take a great thing - his life - to remove a small thing". Family moved to 6 Kinnaird St., Antrim Rd., Belfast when mother (Hilda Craig) was in 2nd class in school. Her father died not long after they moved to that house. Granny (Olivia) took boarders until the boys got older. Then opened a shop on Antrim Rd selling groceries., Albert & Bobby managed the shop. They had the shop when mother was at Miss Dunn's school (Pstlg3=8=0 per quarter less 1 guinea when you gave up bookkeeping). They lived there 18 months.2
